The Trust were contacted by a support worker to request funding for a small piece of home equipment that would make a huge difference to a family’s day to day life. The family had a little boy who, due to his health issues, was not able to eat solid foods. They had been through a large number of kitchen blenders, and the costs of replacing blender after blender as they broke from such regular use was a strain on their finances – as well as an extra worry to replace. The Trust were delighted to provide funding for a catering-quality kitchen blender, a small item that has been a big help.
“This has made such a difference for my son. It means I can blend better sources of protein and smooth puree, which encourages him to eat (and me to worry less!) and, because its quieter, he is willing to get involved which is wonderful and is helping him to be more comfortable around food.
